Question by strichard22: is it legal to have separate sex classes in a coed middle/high school?

i would like to open up a boarding school in st. louis in about 10 years.
my belief is that most core class subjects, especially english and science, could be much better taught in a single-sex environment. i would like to have core classes, plus pe, taught as single-sex classes, while i think nontraditonal elective classes should be coed. what do you think of this, and is it legal in MO?

if it's a private school, you can do whatever you want!
