Question by Adriana Quinta: Sex at 16? Birth control?

I want to ask my mother to put me on birth control but I don't know how. I think having sex at 16 Is an acceptable age, I've been with my boyfriend for two years, I lost my virginity to him at 14 and we stopped having sex.. months after that because we agreed that it wasn't worth the trouble I had gotten in for it. Would it be a bad idea to ask my mom about since I already got in BIG trouble for having sex with him before? But then again that WAS when I was 14..I know I'm ready for it.. But I don't know if my mom is? So what do you guys think?

If you and your boyfriend know you are ready, then it seems like it's fine to have sex. However, each family/individual handles it differently.

You can try to prove to her that you and your boyfriend are mature and ready. After all, you are taking the steps to make things as safe as possible, she should want to make sure you are safe as well.
